Nooh Dastgir Butt wins Gold medal in Uzbekistan

Gujranwala’s pride lifts Pakistan to the top once again

Tashkent, Uzbekistan – June 2025:
Pakistan’s heavyweight sensation, Nooh Dastagir Butt, has made the nation proud by securing double gold medals at the World Strongman Championship 2025, held in Uzbekistan. This marks his second consecutive global title, further solidifying his position as one of the strongest athletes in the world.

Nooh dominated the competition, finishing first in both events he participated in and leaving no doubt about his strength, technique, and determination. Competing against elite athletes from across the globe, his performance was nothing short of outstanding.

Speaking after his win, Nooh expressed deep gratitude and hope for the future:

“This win is for Pakistan. I’m grateful for everyone’s support and Inshallah, I aim to bring more medals for the country.”

This latest victory follows a long list of accolades in his weightlifting and powerlifting career. Nooh previously won gold at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, where he set three records, and also bagged a bronze medal in 2018. In 2024, he claimed gold in the Hercules Columns event during the Pahlavon Mahmud Strongman Games and set an Asian squat record of 400 kg in powerlifting.

Despite facing challenges—including missing the 2024 Paris Olympics due to federation issues—Nooh stayed committed to his training. He made a bold switch to strongman competitions and proved his adaptability by winning with only weeks of preparation.

His father and coach, Ghulam Dastgir Butt, praised his son’s dedication:

“Nooh’s strength comes from hard work and discipline. This is just the beginning of his global journey.”
