Maimona Nasir Baloch Wins Gold Medal in Taekwondo Nationals

A moment of pride for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and particularly Dera Ismail Khan, as young taekwondo athlete Maimona Nasir Baloch clinched the gold medal at the Second Under-17 Taekwondo National Championship held in Faisalabad.

Maimona displayed remarkable skill and determination throughout the tournament. She secured her path to the final by defeating strong opponents, winning the quarter-final against Pakistan WAPDA, the semi-final against Punjab, and finally earning a victorious finish against Pakistan Army in the grand final.

Her outstanding performance not only brought honor to her home region but also highlighted the rising talent in Pakistan’s youth sports. Much of the credit for her success goes to Coach Sir Baqir and the Islamabad School, where she has been nurtured and trained.

Maimona’s triumph is being celebrated across Dera Ismail Khan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as an inspiring moment for young girls in sports. Her win is a testament to what passion, hard work, and proper guidance can achieve — a true daughter of the soil making her mark on the national stage.
